chrisLike most photographers, I started taking pictures when I was about 10, got my first SLR when I was 15, and I have never looked back.

I spent many days both in the darkroom and around campus taking photos for the school paper and year book.

Once introduced to medium format cameras, I realized I had discovered my passion. Despite that today we are in the digital age, medium format remains my passion because black and white film is a dying art... although I do not miss the hours in the darkroom!

Shooting film most of my life....I have always known the difference between perceived reality vs. true reality. Today, with so many photoshop and software editing programs, where do you draw the line at keeping subject matter authentic? I shoot as if I only get one chance to capture the shot; no cropping or adding anything that would interfere with the reality of the picture.

Growing up in various cities from coast to coast in Canada I have been fortunate to have seen many beautiful places. I have now made Ottawa, Ontario my home. Ottawa is a large city with a small town feel. There is so much to see and do during all four seasons that I never seem to run out of amazing things to photograph.

I believe that I never stop learning and seeing things in different perspectives. As with photography, capturing the essence of your subject is about how you see it and how you manipulate light.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my website.
